OnePlus TV launching May 24th but with some limitations

OnePlus having had a successful period of time on their smartphone market, opted to join the TV market back in 2019 of which they announced OnePlus Q1 series android TV’s for the Indian market. the trend went on and last year they(2020) they officially unveiled 32″/43″ Y1 series and 55″ U1 series TVs still for the Indian market. Of course for now they aren’t planning to back down on unveiling more models.

There newest model dubbed OnePlus TV 40Y1 is just days away from announcement and so far we have some of the information that the product will feature. From display to speakers and usability OnePlus has some good specs on paper.

Specs we know about the OnePlus TV

It will come in a 40″ FHD+ bezel-less display with DCI-P3 93% and Gamma Engine. For audio, you get 20W speakers which support Dolby Audio for the crisp cinematic experience. The TV comes with 1GB RAM/8GB ROM, 64bit processer, Alexa support, Bluetooth 5.0, 2 HDMI ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports which is more than enough so far. It will use the Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz option and also feature an Ethernet port Android TV 9.0 is the operating system.

During their first ever TV launch, OnePlus introduced a new way to communicate to your TV using your mobile phone and called it OnePlus Connect. Basically it allows you to use your OnePlus phone as the TV remote as well as the keyboard to help in navigating across different apps on the TV.

The specs we know so far are very minimal but this article will be updated after the launch event to incorporate al the specs you need to know about the OnePlus TV 40Y1.

The limitation

OnePlus has very good TVs with amazing specs and at a fair price point but the only problem is they are limited to the Indian Market. It is mostly because they have a huge user base in India and more loyal users that want to get tied into the OnePlus ecosystem but I hope in the coming months we can see their TVs globally. It would be a very good starting point of even making their global community stick around the OnePlus community.
