Xiaomi Kenya recently announced the Redmi 12C smartphone in Kenya. The phone’s main focus is the budget market competing with the likes of Tecno, Infinix, Realme, Vivo, and Oppo. This is the first smartphone from the Redmi 12 series to be available in Kenya awaiting the global release of the rest of the series.
The Redmi 12C comes with a 6.7″ HD+ display with a water drop notch cut-out for its selfie camera. In the phone is the MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor coupled with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage but in Kenya, we will only get the option of up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone comes out of the box running MIUI 13 based on Android 13.
Regarding the cameras, the Redmi 12C features a dual setup comprising of 50MP main camera and a 0.08MP depth sensor. The selfie sensor is a 5MP shooter. For videos, both the rear and front cameras shoot up to 1080p at 30fps.
Everything is powered up by a 5000mAh battery that charges at a max speed of 10W via the micro-USB port. Other features of the phone include BlueTooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM radio.
