Samsung Officially Unveils the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Z Flip 6 in Kenya

Samsung Electronics announced its all-new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, along with Galaxy Buds3, Galaxy Buds3 Pro, Watch 7, and Watch Ultra in the Kenyan Market.

Both devices feature Galaxy AI which was introduced earlier this year during the launch of the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung’s continued innovation for foldables has created the slimmest and lightest Galaxy Z series ever, optimized for portability.

The latest Galaxy Z series is equipped with enhanced Armor Aluminum and Corning® Gorilla®Glass Victus® 2, making this the most durable Galaxy Z series yet. Both the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 are fitted with the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. As per Samsung, the processor is optimized for AI processing and offers enhanced graphics along with improved overall performance.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Specifications

The Z Fold 6 comes with 3 colour options, that is Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy. The phone features a 7.6″ QXGA+ dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and a 6.3″ HD+ secondary display. Both displays refresh at 120Hz.

To the cameras, the Z Fold 6 features a 50MP+12MP+10MP rear line-up and a 10MP cover display camera. The under-display camera resolution is set to 4MP. For video, the phone shoots a max of 8K@30fps. Optical Image stabilization is only supported on the rear cameras.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform and coupled with 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The phone is 5G capable with dual sim support. There is also support for eSIM.

For connectivity, the Z fold 6 has USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi 2.4 to 6GHz, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and Ultra-Wideband.

Out of the box, the Z Fold 6 comes with Android 14-based One-UI 6.1. For battery, you get a 4400mAh capacity battery with support for 25W fast charging and wireless charging. Other features include an IP48 dust and water resistance rating, a Stereo speaker system, 8K video playback, and Samsung DeX support.

The Z Flip 6 has a 6.7″ AMOLED main display that supports 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display for the Flip 6 features a 3.4″ AMOLED display with support for 60Hz refresh rate.

For processing, the Flip 6 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.

The cameras here are a dual 50MP+12MP rear line-up with support for Optical image stabilization and a 10MP front-facing camera. For battery, you get a 4000mAh capacity battery with support for 25W wired and wireless fast charging.

Other features of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are IP48 water and dust resistance rating, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G connectivity, eSIM support, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 Pricing and Availability in Kenya

In Kenya the Recommended Retail price for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 256GB  is Ksh 264,000 while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will go for Kshs. 148,000. The two will be available for pre-order at authorized Samsung stores and e-commerce partners from 11th July to 31st July.

Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will receive a slim S-pen case while those who pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive a flip suite case set.
