The event is dubbed “GET READY TO UNFOLD” and promises to showcase the latest and greatest in the folding, wearable and audio department. Last year we had the Samsung Galaxy Fold a phenomenal change from the first Samsung Fold. We saw huge improvements and hopefully, we will see more of that during this event later on today.
What to expect from the unpacked event
The event will have more hardware products as well as software thanks to the numerous leaks seen on a day to day basis. Some information however never made it to the leaks and we are eager to see what Samsung has to surprise us with.
The Galaxy z fold 3 & Galaxy z flip 3 will be the key highlights of the event and is expected to have better processors, cameras, displays and a stylus for the z fold 3. At this time of the year is when Samsung unveils the Galaxy Note series but it seems Samsung might try to get rid of the Note series in the future bearing in mind that they clarified that the S-Pen will come to more flagship devices very soon after it was made available on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Galaxy watch 4 classic(42mm, 44mm and 46mm sizes) and watch 4 (40mm or 44mm sizes). The Watch 4 series was one of the first products to get confirmation during the company MWC event as they introduced OneUI for Watch.
Samsung galaxy buds 2 will come with active noise cancellation. There isn’t much said about the buds so we will have to wait for the official launch for clarification on that.
The software part comes in form of Samsung and Google’s co-developed WearOS 3 which will be the core operating system for OneUI for Watch and will be focused on faster performance and better battery life. Remember the new WearOS is not exclusive to Samsung and Google but other manufacturers can use it on the wearables as well.
When and where to watch the event live
The virtual event will start today the 11th of August 2021 at 5 PM EAT and can be streamed live from Samsung’s YouTube channel or the company’s website.
